An Electronic paper nameplate with M5Paper&UIFlow

イベントで大活躍する名札を、M5Paper で作りました！

以前から M5Paper を名札にする利用法は見かけていて、自分も手を出してみたいと思っていました。そして、2022年11月ごろに UIFlow をメインで使った手順を試して、そこで確立した自分なりの手順で作った名札を、その後の対面のイベントで頻繁に活用しています！

自分以外にも M5Paper で名札を作られている方がいらっしゃいますが、自分の場合は UIFlow を使った自分好みのやり方にしています。UIFlow と組み合わせるのは、一般的によく使われているアプリ・PC標準のアプリです。この M5Paper を使った名札の作り方について、手順を公開した記事を見かけない気がしたので、Web上で情報を公開できればと思い、手順詳細を Qiita の記事にしています。

また、この便利さを技術コミュニティ向けに伝えられればと、金沢で行われた IoT関連の LTイベント（開催 100回目の記念回！）で、現地登壇した際の発表ネタにもしました。

I made a nameplate with M5Paper, which are very useful at various events!

I had seen this use of M5Paper for some time and wanted to try my hand at it. Then, around November 2022, I tried the procedure using UIFlow as the main tool, and the nameplates I made using my own procedure established there are the ones I have frequently used in subsequent in-person events!

I know there are other people who use M5Paper to make nameplates, but in my case, I prefer to use UIFlow, which is a commonly used application/standard PC application. I have not seen any articles on how to make nameplates using M5Paper, so I thought it would be nice if I could publish the information on the web, so I am writing a web article on the details of the procedure.

I also hoped to convey this usefulness to the technical community. For this purpose, I gave a presentation at an IoT-related LT event held in Kanazawa (the 100th anniversary of the event!).

  • UIFlow： M5Paper などの M5Stack社の製品の開発に使えるビジュアルプログラミング環境
  • M5Burner： 上記の UIFlow を利用するためのファームウェアを、M5Stack社のデバイスに書きこむために使うアプリ
  • PowerPoint Mac版
  • プレビューアプリ（Mac標準アプリ）

なお、「PowerPoint Mac版」と「プレビューアプリ（Mac標準アプリ）」で行っている処理は、別のフリーのアプリや Windows標準のアプリなどでも代替可能であるため、本手順は Mac環境以外でも実施可能です。

  • M5Burner: An application used to write firmware to M5Stack devices for use with UIFlow.

Note that the processes performed in "PowerPoint for Mac" and "Preview application (standard Mac application)" can also be performed with other free applications or standard Windows applications, for example, so the procedures can be performed outside of the Mac environment.
